So, I will be getting the presidential treatment my first night. (I expect I will need it after dealing with airports and customs.) Hotel Don Carlos, in San Jose, was a former president's mansion. What I find even more exciting is that they have an outdoor orchid garden. I promise you will hear more about orchids and my love affair with them.
I will also be getting the royal treatment, as we will visit the Gold Museum, Museos del Banco Central de Costa Rica (I really should learn Spanish)

Who are they? What is this?
This blog houses the thoughts and images of nine Rutgers University students as they travel the world. Each student was awarded a scholarships to experience the sciences beyond their New Jersey borders. In addition to the research and/or coursework they will be doing this summer, they have been asked to keep a journal or blog. Their thoughts are recorded once or twice a week over the duration of their international experience.
